5 Types of Toys for Babies and Tots

Tots are getting acquired with their surrounding world. Each activity is an adventure and an opportunity to learn something new and exciting.

The best toys for tots stimulate their senses. These toys should be very colorful, pleasant to the touch and possibly making sounds. Further, toys for tots need to be entirely safe and of high quality.

When selecting toys for their young babies, many parents are confused. Toy stores feature hundreds of options, each one seeming to have some merits of their own. Still, some toys will always be preferred over others because of the manner in which they affect tots.

Rattles and Chewing Toys
Rattles are perfect toys for the first few months of the baby’s life. Such toys are usually very colorful and coming in many shapes and sizes. The sounds that rattles make stimulate the baby’s senses.

Toys that can be chewed are excellent for teething tots. These toys are usually made of soft rubber or gel that can be cooled down. These materials provide some comfort and relief during a painful period of the tot’s life. Both rattles and chew toys should be purchased to guarantee the baby’s good development and comfort during the first several months of life.

Mobile Baby Gym
Mobile baby gyms are amazing toys encouraging activity. These are usually very colorful and having various types of objects and toys hanging from a secured frame. Mobile baby gyms are entirely soft, so that babies feel comfortable while exploring the shiny and attention-grabbing objects. Sometimes, mobile gyms could be designed to make noises, getting the baby even more involved.

Mobile baby gyms are excellent for newborn tots and babies aged up to several months. Apart from being exceptionally fun, mobile gyms help for the baby’s physical development and wellbeing.

Crib Toys
Tots spend significant time of the day in their beds. Soft baby toys that can be positioned in the bed or attached to it will make the experience much more pleasing.

Musical toys can be positioned above the bed to stimulate the baby and help for relaxation. The diversity of crib toys is tremendous. These include lullaby soothers, bedtime star sets, various kinds of mirrors, musical mobiles and soft animals that can be safely secured to the crib.

Baby Books
Special types of books have been developed for tots.

These books are usually made of rubber or a waterproof material that cannot be stained. These books can be used during feeding or while the baby is having a bath. Baby books have colorful pictures and can often be musical.

Waterproof books are very easy to clean, safe and stimulating. They can be carried around everywhere and can also be given to teething babies.

Sensory Stimulation
Sensory stimulation toys have been created precisely to intrigue children and to stimulate their senses.

Such toys are most suitable for tots aged three months and older. These toys are very colorful and having buttons that can be pushed, resulting in specific action (a sound being played, for example).

Sensory toys teach thoughts of causes and effects. Babies will learn that they can make something happen by pressing a button. These toys will help babies discover the world and will also give them a chance to coordinate their movements.

Educational chairs, talking animal toys, complex rattles that make a variety of sounds and activity stations are all sensory stimulation toys that the baby will love playing with and learning from.

Remember to put baby safety as a top priority. Even if a toy looks tremendous, it might be dangerous. Make sure that the material used and the pieces that the toy is made of meet all safety requirements.
