Nursery Design Ideas - Farm Theme

Having a themed nursery is appropriate and fun. All parents want to create the coziest and most attractive atmosphere for their children. Themes add a degree of consistency to the design efforts.

A farm-themed nursery will look good, welcoming and very comforting. Patterns, animal pictures and appropriate accessories can turn this room into the most beautiful place of the house.

Implementing a farm theme and designing the nursery can be very enjoyable. It starts with a great idea and several little tricks that will make the theme realistic. The usage of colors and decorative patterns will certainly transform the place.

Decide on the Style
Before getting started with the actual work, you will have to do some serious and very elaborated planning. Doing your homework will help you clarify all issues and decide on the most suitable design approach.

A farm theme is the certain design aspect. What style will you adopt when trying to bring the theme to reality? Is it going to be realistic, funky, modern or stylized?

The style will determine the types of accessories and decorations you will use in the nursery.

Color Usage
A farm theme needs the selection of the appropriate colors. To make a right selection, try to picture a farm landscape in your imagination.

The most appropriate colors will be the natural ones. Beige, brown, baby blue and all other pastel shades will fit into the theme perfectly. Try to picture the ground, the crops, the farm animals and the blue sky.

Pick several colors but refrain from overdoing it. The child room needs to be jolly but also stylish.

Once you paint the walls, decide whether you want to have several large images. Instead of painting, you can also use wallpaper. Some nursery wallpapers feature farm animals and will be very appropriate.

Accessories and Furniture
Accessories can also help you enforce the theme. Try to get those and the furniture in the colors that you used when painting the walls.

Find beautiful soft rugs and curtains that will make the room even more welcoming. Once again, emphasize on pastel and warm shades. The curtains can be patterned or once again featuring farm animals.

The blankets and bed sheets that you select should also follow the farm theme. Some bed sheets have animal prints – funny cows, sheep and pigs. They can also have a specific pattern – grass-like, cloudy or resembling grain.

Furniture should be made of wood. Keep the materials natural. Plastic objects will hardly ever fit into the theme. Select a massive, wooden crib. Try to match the color of the wood with the shades of other decorations and accessories.

Add some animal plush toys but refrain from cluttering the room. The walls and accessories will be beautiful enough by themselves. Try to emphasize on one leading element and use it throughout the design.

A farm-themed nursery is a great idea. Follow the basic principles but remember to have fun in the process. Be daring enough to make it funkier or more stylish than it traditionally is. You need to be comfortable with the room, if you want your baby to be able to get relaxation and to play there.
